9th Ave Mural Sketch
February 17, 2012 in Article by admin
So our first meeting came and went, now we’re working away on the sketch with great vigor. So to whet your appetite we have a sneak peak of the first half of the mural.
VMI’s 3 artists each created a roughly 32ft x 12ft panel. Those were then taken and worked back into the general framework of the mural, which is, The Singing River.
The Singing River is a 300 year-old Native American legend, a love story based in Manatee County. That general theme has been taken and reinterpreted by a younger generation. Tying in other themes of downtown such as the Riverfront, arts and nightlife, this is something not only unique, but uniquely Bradenton.
Enjoy the sneak peak on the mural page located here.

Last night was the Photo Album & Record show hosted by the husband and wife team of Chad & Suzie Cordoza of Kick Start My Art, at The Bricks in Ybor City. Using 12″ records as inspiration, a variety of young artists from the bay area and beyond, recreated them in a photo graph.
The Photo Album show was hosted at The Bricks in Ybor. Opened by the Skate Park of Tampa, The Bricks focusing on lively people, local beer and awesome art.
A picture always says so much more though, so view the gallery of pics I took and then check out both The Bricks & Kick Start My Art.
